Christmas in Tokyo - Day Two

Our second day in Tokyo was Christmas day, so we started our morning by opening stockings! We wanted to have a little something to open on Christmas day since all our gifts were back in Guam to be opened after we got back from Tokyo.

Gavin got a couple new books from Santa that he got into right away!!

We decided to go check out the Tsukiji Fish Market and get lunch there but we found out that most of the market area is not operating at this time of year. We walked around for awhile before we found the little shops and eating places.

After that, we rode the subway over to Odaiba, a little island off the coast. Lots of shopping places there and they have a huge ferris wheel! They also have a mini Statue of Liberty, so we had to go check that out!

We rode the ferris wheel around sunset (the sun went down around 4:30pm) and got some great views of the area!

We also stopped to check out a Christmas Tree decorating contest in one of the subway stations. They had some interesting trees!

We went to another illumination display - this one had lights to the various songs from Beauty and the Beast. Unfortunately, Gavin had had a long day by then and was not in the mood. So we didn't get to see the whole thing but here are a couple pics.

On our ride back to the hotel, Gavin was thrilled to be able to hold the handle on the subway! He definitely couldn't do that when I had him in the carrier.

We were also able to get our picture taken in front of the Christmas trees and fireplace in the lobby of the New Sanno Hotel! Great Christmas Day!
